MARCH 10, 2025 | Symposium on Dengue Control and Prevention Held at Navarro Elementary School
A symposium on dengue control and prevention was held at Navarro Elementary School. The event was attended by our very own Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) President Gracielle A. Gaduina, Vice President Jelaine Cristine G. Gimena, Dr. Naneth P. Salvador, School Principal and their adviser, Genesis D. Montaño. Together joined by the SSLG President and Vice President of Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. North National High School—Parklane Annex, along with the Teacher-in-Charge, Sir Manolo L. Barles, and Sir Elmer P. Casajeros.
The program began with a warm welcome message from Dr. Jonathan P. Luseco, City Health Officer II, followed by a message of support from Dr. Ivan Brian L. Inductivo, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, SDO General Trias City. Hon. Luis A. Ferrer IV, City Mayor of General Trias, also delivered an inspiring speech. Following his address, Mayor Ferrer and Vice Mayor Labugen distributed mosquito repellent lotion to all attendees, who then participated in a pledge of support for the dengue control and prevention campaign.
After a brief break, Mr. Luis A. Broas, RN, RPh, MAN, the City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (CESU) Head, led a lecture on dengue awareness. He emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is crucial to eradicating dengue in General Trias.
The event also featured a turnover ceremony where anti-mosquito equipment and supplies were distributed to each school, reinforcing the city’s commitment to dengue prevention.
The symposium concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from Mr. Nicolas D. Taccad, Principal II of Navarro Elementary School.
