In a proactive move to strengthen learning recovery efforts, component schools of Cluster 9 convened for a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Programโ€™s School Readiness and Responsiveness Audit. The session was held at the Schools Division Office of General Trias City in Barangay Sta. Clara.

The FGD was initiated by Cluster 9 Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) Ms. Arlene M. Hernandez, and brought together key education stakeholders, including North High Principal Dr. Naneth P. Salvador; Reading and Math Coordinators Ms. Babeth Casajeros and Ms. Ginalyn Cabudoy; and Subject Coordinators Ms. Gigi Lyn V. Aticaldo (English) and Ms. Elena S. Rosales (Science and Math).

Discussions centered on evaluating preparatory plans and actions prior to the full implementation of the ARAL Program. Participants identified potential challenges and proposed strategic improvements to ensure the delivery of effective academic interventions. Emphasis was placed on collaborative planning and data-driven decision-making to address learning gaps and support student achievement.

The ARAL Program is a flagship initiative of the Department of Education (DepEd), aimed at helping students from Kindergarten to Grade 10 attain grade-level competencies in reading, mathematics, and science. It seeks to mitigate learning losses, particularly those resulting from recent weeklong class suspensions due to storm surges and reinforce foundational skills among Gentriseรฑo learners.

Insights and recommendations from the FGD are expected to inform future actions and enhance the implementation of the ARAL Program across Cluster 9 schools.
