April 8, 2025 | The School Management Committee (SMC) of North High, under the leadership of Dr. Naneth P. Salvador, School Principal, conferred on the latest directives from the Department of Education.

Dr. Salvador presented and provided clarifications in regard to the provisions of DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2025, which amends the school calendar guidelines for SY 2024–2025. Highlights of the discussion included:

– Teachers and learners, including ALS teachers, are entitled to a 60-day vacation during the End of School Year (EOSY) break.

– 30 days are designated for personal rest, implemented on a flexible basis, from April 16 to June 1, 2025.

– Learners attending summer programs shall have their vacation outside May 8 to June 6, 2025.

– Teachers must submit their chosen 30-day vacation schedule before April 16, 2025.

– Participation in 2025 summer programs, including School-Based Trainings, is voluntary and may earn teachers Vacation Service Credits (VSC).

The committee also tackled DepEd Order No. 010, s. 2025, which sets the Guidelines for the Implementation of the 2025 Education Summer Programs. These are part of DepEd’s commitment to address learning loss and foundational gaps, particularly in reading and numeracy. The school’s Learning Camp will specifically focus on reading interventions for non-readers.

With these directives, North High reaffirms its commitment to both teacher welfare and learner success.
