GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – School Paper Advisers (SPAs) from Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. North National High School (LYFJNNHS) actively participate in a division-led Campus Journalism Capability-Building Training held at the Schools Division Office of General Trias City, located in Barangay Sta. Clara.

Representing North Highโ€™s official student publications, The North Tribune and Tanglaw Hilaga, Mr. Romeo J. Dolor Jr., Ms. Margie L. Rodriguez, and Ms. Liezel D. Globio joined fellow SPAs from various schools across the city in a collaborative learning session aimed at enhancing journalistic skills and editorial leadership.

The training featured a comprehensive lecture on sports writing delivered by Ms. Arlene D. Dela Costa, a seasoned SPA from Tanza National Comprehensive High School. Her session covered the essential components of sports journalism, including crafting compelling lead paragraphs, structuring the body and miscellaneous sections, and developing engaging headlines.

Participants actively engaged in writeshops, applying the concepts discussed through real-time writing exercises and peer feedback. The event underscores the Schools Division Officeโ€™s commitment to strengthening campus journalism and empowering student publications through continuous professional development for advisers. ~ Dolor, TNT
