In line with the nationwide implementation of the ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ (๐๐๐) ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Health (DOH), North High recently underwent a Division Validation to ensure that health-promoting policies and practices are actively integrated into the school system.
The validation team from the Schools Division Office of General Trias was composed of Nurse II Marichelle D. Ting, Eliel Mae A. Galgo, and Yana D. Villanueva, who thoroughly assessed the schoolโs efforts in promoting holistic health and wellness among learners and personnel. Assisting them during the visit were Dr. Naneth P. Salvador, School Principal, together with Ms. Via Fhaye M. Porto, HLI Coordinator, and the MAPEH and TLE teachers who play vital roles in implementing school-based health initiatives.
The HLI Program seeks to transform schools into safe, inclusive, and health-promoting environments. It focuses on four major components: promoting health and well-being by addressing learnersโ physical, socio-emotional, and psychological needs; enhancing school environments to ensure safety, inclusivity, and a supportive atmosphere for both students and staff; strengthening health systems through accessible school-based services and strong linkages with community health resources; and integrating health into education by embedding health concepts and skills in the curriculum while empowering teachers as advocates of wellness.
Through this Division Validation, North High reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing students not only academically but also physically, emotionally, and socially, thereby aligning with DepEdโs vision of developing healthy, resilient, and lifelong learners.
